School Sustainability Leaders Summit
The Summit and the network it supports are the only of their kind in the country, specifically designed for staff at school districts, school systems and independent schools who are the point-people for environmental sustainability within their organization.
Participants in the School Sustainability Leaders network and summit hold positions in school districts from the largest to the smallest, as well as in independent schools and parochial school systems. At the Summit, attendees join Resource Conservation Managers, Energy Managers, Sustainability Directors, Facilities Directors, and others to think strategically about how environmental sustainability is incorporated into school operations.
Attendance at the Summit is limited, allowing for targeted learning and the opportunity to join and connect with a network of like-minded professionals. It is free to attend, and a limited number of travel stipends to help with the cost of getting to Washington, D.C. and staying in the city.
Upcoming deadline: The application period is now open for the 2014 School Sustainability Leaders Summit. The fourth annual Summit will take place at USGBC offices in Washington, D.C. on June 25-27, 2014. Please review the informational summary and click on the link below to apply. School and district staff who are responsible for system-wide sustainability are also welcome to join the online network for School Sustainability Leaders, regardless of attendance at the Summit.
